October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’m thrilled to celebrate breast cancer survivors who are travelers, adventurers, and kick ass women!
Show Notes
Meet Mia Ransom Parnell. Mia started the travel blog Mia Adventura to share about her travels and to inspire other women to see the world.
As a 22 year breast cancer survivor, Mia knows just how precious her life is. She shares with us how she took control of her health care and emphasizes how important it is for black women to advocate for their own health and well being.
Mia also shares how after raising her children to adulthood, it was important to define and design the kind of life she wanted to live.
Mia has certain challenges when traveling as breast cancer survivor, however they don’t stop her from doing amazing things like running Susan G. Komen races all across the country.
As a young black girl from Alabama, travel is not something Mia ever thought she would or could do, but her journey is truly one of triumph and inspiration.
