Social Media has become an integral part of our everyday lives. From Facebook to Instagram to Snapchat to Twitter, a large majority of us are interacting with some form of social media on a daily basis.
For me, as a blogger and digital influencer, I have had to become somewhat of a social media super ninja! I know some people take breaks from it and think it’s too much at times. However, I’ve come to love having interactions and the ability to share information across the globe right at my fingertips.
On June 30th Social Media gets it’s very own “holiday” all over the world. I first learned about Social Media Day Tampa Bay last year because I was nominated for the Best Local Blogger award.
I was like whaaaa??!! Little old me? Well this sounds fun so I guess I’ll show up LOL.
We’re all so lucky that right here in Tampa the NHIE Guys are bringing together social media lovers to celebrate all things social media and do a little giving back too. Nobody will tell you to put your phone down at this event. You can Snapchat to your heart’s content.
Last year, I had no clue what I was in for and it was a blast. There was emoji themed everything, including the cake and my favorite element, the poop emoji balloon. There was even an emoji fortune teller.
Of course the best thing that happened was me winning the Best Local Blogger award! I treasure my emoji trophy so much because it’s an honor to be recognized by your peers and your community for doing something you truly love!
Best Local Blogger 2016 #SMDAYTampa
This year the Social Media Day Tampa Bay event kicks off with a caravan around Tampa in VW Beetles, courtesy of the presenting Sponsor, Reeves VW. I’m part of the lucky group of local social media influencers that will cruise around town snapping pics and performing tasks along the way. This should be fun so be sure to follow along throughout the day!
At 5pm the Social Media Day Tampa Bay VIP Happy Hour begins at Ferg’s Live with cocktails and a chance to network with other social media pros from around the bay. The VIP event will likely sell out so be sure to get your tickets ASAP. Get your tickets HERE for Early Access VIP Hour.
At 6pm the #SMDAYTampa event gets underway with all of the social media fun you can handle. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this year but if last year was any indication then it’s going to be a good time. You can also look forward to some fun interactions from sponsors like Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa, Chef Inspired Popcorn, Mini Doughnut Factory and more.
The event is free but donations to benefit this year’s charity, the Gasparilla Music Fest are welcomed and encouraged.
