A Perfect Day of Relaxation at Salamander Spa

A day of relaxation at the Salamander Spa at Innisbrook Golf Resort was the perfect way to restore my mind and body.

Salamander Spa hosted me along with other influencers for a day at the spa. While this was a hosted visit, my opinions reflect my honest views. (Full disclosure)

While I love to get out and have an outdoorsy adventure, a day at Salamander Spa is a great way to cater to my “diva” side too!

The Innisbrook Golf Resort is widely known for being a championship course on the PGA tour and home of the Valspar Golf Tournament in the spring.

I think this resort, which is part of the Salamander Hotels family of black owned resorts, is often overlooked for some of its other qualities that make it a great staycation location for locals and a resort worth considering for visitors to the Tampa Bay area.

Yoga on the Terrace

While the Salamander Spa has all of the amenities you would expect like massage treatments, skin treatments, and salon services, they also offer another wellness benefit that helps to set them apart from other spas in the Tampa Bay area.

In addition to a traditional fitness center with exercise equipment and free weights, the Salamander Spa also offers yoga, pilates, zumba, and water aerobics.

Our morning began with a yoga session to get us warmed up and relaxed. It was supposed to be out on their beautiful terrace, but per usual, Florida weather rained our plans so yoga was moved inside.

Salamander Spa Massage

The treatments offered at the Salamander Spa include traditional massages, a Thai floor massage, body scrubs, wraps, facials, and hot stones. I was impressed by the variety of treatments offered.

The price point for most of the treatments is also very reasonable. The treatments range from $70 – $200 depending on the treatment and length selected.

I chose the spa ritual treatment which consisted of a scalp massage using pure essential oils followed by a massage.

My masseuse applied a rich body cream all over as she massaged away all my stress. She has several scents to choose from which I was grateful for since I have allergies and some things can cause me to have a reaction.

I chose a light airy scent which she used throughout my treatment.

During my treatment the calming music playing through the sound system was accidentally turned off but my wonderful masseuse simply whipped her cell phone out and had a playlist ready to go to keep us in a relaxing mood.

After a wonderful full body massage, the treatment ended with an exfoliating foot scrub and heated towel treatment.

At some point I drifted right off to dreamland. It really was just what I needed.

Salamander Spa Extras

Either before or after your treatment you also have full use of the other spa amenities.

There’s a sauna and whirlpool plunge pool for your use. I’m not into the sauna because I don’t want my natural hair to swell but I did soak in the whirlpool.

Y’all know I love a good soak in bubbling water. Afterwards these cool towels that had been soaked in lavender and mint were perfect to cool off and rejuvenate the skin.

Afterwards they have several sitting areas to lounge and relax in your robe and have one of their very tasty cocktails.

After your pampering session grab lunch from one of the many restaurants onsite. We were treated to a glorious spread of fresh food options during our spa day and everything was fresh and flavorful.
