First Time Visit to Cypress Cove Nude Resort

Cypress Cove Resort

Last month I embarked on an adventure that took me the farthest out of my comfort zone that I’ve ever been. When I say far, I mean uber far, like in another galaxy far. I was invited to stay at the Cypress Cove Nudist Resort and Spa in Kissimmee, Florida, a preferred location for nudist vacationers from around the world. Yep, Outdoorsy Diva went to a nude resort. Florida National Parks Guide

Our National Parks turned 100 years old this year.   The parks are a national treasure that so many of us never get a chance to appreciate.  In fact, I didn’t visit my first national park site until I was 28 years old.  I visited Fort Matanzas with my son on a spring break trip to St. Augustine, Florida at the recommendation of a friend.  Read More »

Glamping at Westgate River Ranch Dude Ranch

I’m a birthday person. I believe in celebrating your birthday as big and bold as you possibly can because anytime you get a chance to see another full year of life it’s worth celebrating. This year I decided I wanted to do something really different but in lieu of an international trip it would be a domestic trip. Not to worry — what it lacked in distance it made up for in uniqueness. I spent this year’s 10th annual Laurentines Day on a glamping adventure at a Florida dude ranch! (If you’re new here, Laurentines Day is the national holiday that IS my birthday)

Just an hour and half from Tampa is the Westgate River Ranch, a real life dude ranch in the Lake Wales area.  2 of my close friends came along for the fun and we completely immersed ourselves into the Cowgirl way of life over an extended weekend of adventure, laughter, and new experiences.  Read More »

What to Expect on Your First Deep Sea Fishing Trip

what to expect on your first deep sea fishing trip

We recently celebrated my son’s 16th birthday.  When I asked him what he wanted to do to celebrate this milestone, I was expecting him to want a party or maybe even ask for a reason to use his passport. What he actually asked for surprised me — he wanted a deep sea fishing trip with his friends. I didn’t see that coming. No denying him, he’s totally my kid.  Of course he wants an adventure for his birthday! That’s definitely not what most 16 years his age are asking for and I was more than happy to oblige his request.  Read More »

Swimming With Manatees in Florida

swimming with manatees

Some people equate the winter season with fun in the snow, skiing, sledding, snow boarding, snow shoeing and all of the other activities people who live in colder climates look forward to in the winter months. Floridians…not so much. When the temperatures dip down into those disrespectful digits in the 30s and 40s, there is one thing that we get excited about.  Okay two things.  We do like dressing the part for winter so when we can wear boots without getting sweaty calves that’s a win. But more importantly, colder temperatures means an abundance of the unofficial Florida mascot, the manatee!!! Read More »
