Top 10 Florida State Fair Food Favorites To Die For

For as long as I’ve lived in Tampa,Florida, the start of February has signaled the arrival of the Florida State Fair. I looked forward to the annual Fair Day out of school to go and ride ridiculously crazy rides until I puked and play the midway games.   I also loved stuffing my face with deep fried goodness and other fair food favorites.

And then I got old and my love affair ended. Even as a mom I only recall taking my own son a few times to the fair over the years. He always had a friend he could go with so I was off the hook.

But this year I was hosted by the Florida State Fair and my long lost love affair with the brightly colored midway, meat on a stick, and deep fried everything was rekindled. It was like meeting up with an old long lost friend. Read More »

Palm Island Resort: Rum Bay and Leverock’s Foodie Adventure

I had the opportunity to take a little day trip down to a hidden piece of paradise called Palm Island for a regional media dinner.  You may have never heard of Palm Island. I certainly hadn’t until this dinner. So where exactly is Palm Island? It’s a south of Sarasota and north of Fort Meyers.  It’s just a little ways from the Port Charlotte area.  This foodie adventure was an eye-opening experience that exposed me to yet another region of Florida I’ve yet to explore.

I’ve got some great food adventures to share with you this week.

New Computerized Ordering at McD’s

First up, we’ve got some exciting foodie news for all of you in Pinellas County.  If you recall, I was able to try out the new McDonald’s Creat Your Taste kiosk ordering system at the Wesley Chapel location.  It was the only location in Florida.  Just last week, the Clearwater 1500 Belcher location held a ribbon cutting ceremony to unvail their new Create Your Taste. If you haven’t had a chance to try it out because Wesley Chapel was just too far, now you’ve got your chance on the other side of the bridge.
